As athletes, we spend countless hours training our bodies in hopes of having a successful or peak performance. When we fail to meet our goals and/or expectations, we tend to blame mental factors as the reason for our shortcomings. Many athletes and coaches attest that up to 90% of success in sports results from having the proper mental mindset. With such high importance placed on mental preparation, why are we not spending an appropriate amount of time training our most powerful asset - our mind? 

 

GTK SPORTS offers individualized mental skills training programs to match the strengths and needs of the athlete through the following two-step approach that has been proven to enhance sport performance

 

1. EDUCATION

    ~Importance of mental skills training for enhancing sport performance

    ~Acquiring the specific mental skills used to enhance performance

 

2. IMPLEMENTATION

    ~Integrate mental skills with physical skills during practices and competition

          ~Develop practice habits of mental skills to improve performance

 

The sport psychology coaching offered by GTK SPORTS run approximately 10-12 weeks and includes an initial consultation, mental skills evaluation, follow-up private sessions, practice and/or game observations, and email correspondence.
